What the heck IS that THING?!: Episode V

March 28, 2007

Here’s another fun installment of everyone’s favorite blog game show, “What the heck IS THAT thing?!?”  Today’s photo comes from South Korea, at a protest demonstration:

SouthKorea protest (AP)

Quick quiz: This protester is protesting …

  • A)  The meat industry in South Korea, pushing pro-vegetarian causes
  • B)  Free trade agreements with the USA
  • C)  Vitamin A deficiency in school kids
  • D)  Vegetable mutation from nuclear power plants

The answer is after the jump…   If you can read Korean, then you cheated … you forfeit your points!

Here’s the photo cutline from the AP: A South Korean protester wears a mask symbolizing anti-FTA talks between the United States and South Korea in front of the venue of a meeting for free-trade agreement (FTA) in Seoul, South Korea, Wednesday, March 28, 2007. A trio of prominent South Korean lawmakers said Tuesday they have gone on a hunger strike against a proposed free trade agreement with the United States just days ahead of a deadline for the ambitious deal. The sign read ” Obstruct the FTA talks between the U.S. and South Korea.” (AP Photo/Yonhap, Seo Myung-kon)
