Getting my “Halo” on

February 20, 2007

Today is the release day for the Halo 3 beta CD for XBox 360 (otherwise known under the video-game-packaging name of “Crackdown“).

Expect this moderately-good-reviewed game (7.8 out of 10 on Gamespot) to be off the shelves by dinner time, since game buyers also get access to the long-awaited Halo 3 beta online demo.

I actually saw a commerical for “Crackdown” last night during Prison Break, and wondered “What’s the point?”  The game is on its way to Greatest Hits status, and might be the first in history that doesn’t even get played by its owners.

The game creators should have put the Halo beta password at the END of Crackdown, making the gamers beat the game first to get access.

Now THAT’s a prize worth playing for!  🙂

Crackdown is brilliant, in a word. You don’t know how fun it is till you play it, try the demo on Xbox Live Marketplace if you can.
