Jesus H. Cruise: Actor is Scientology’s prophet?
This story makes my brain hurt: The Sun (UK) is reporting that leaders of the Church of Scientology have deemed actor Tom Cruise (yes, THAT Tom Cruise) is their new “Jesus Christ-like” prophet, who will spread their religion around the world.
I feel sick. From the Sun article:
And leader David Miscavige believes that in future, Cruise, 44, will be worshipped like Jesus for his work to raise awareness of the religion.
A source close to the actor, who has risen to one of the church’s top levels, said: “Tom has been told he is Scientology’s Christ-like figure.
“Like Christ, he’s been criticised for his views. But future generations will realise he was right.”
So that makes “Cruise-mas” a holiday on July 3, since that’s his birthday.
Woohoo! With the 4th of July, that’ll give us a 4-day holiday in the States on occasion.
